"Pergolas, Solariums, and Verandas, oh my!"

Over the weekend, I had my monthly wine catch-up with my four closest girlfriends—we popped into Cactus, mostly because of it’s proximity to Homesense.

I was in the mood for red, something refreshing and unexpected. The server suggested I try Tomato Wheels’ Lambrusco.

It arrived—subtle bubbles and ruby-hued, with notes of lavender, cold blueberry, crème fraîche, a touch of tannin, and a deliciously fresh finish. Instant summer vibes.

Transported. Just like that, I was back to my 20-year-old self, sipping wine at a bistro in central Europe. It’s happened. I’ve found my new summer wine—and now all I can think about is where I’ll be enjoying it.

So, here we go—three dreamy destinations for your Lambrusco moments this summer, each one perfect for sipping, lounging, and making memories:

Pourin’ in the Pergola: Backyard Wine Moments

When we moved into our home—before we even touched the sponge-painted wall—we built a pergola in the yard so I could train flowering vines up the posts, recreating the one we danced beneath at our wedding.

Now, two years in, we’re adding a floating outdoor bed for stargazing. Naturally, this became the first place I imagined enjoying a glass of Lambrusco.

Pergolas are more accessible than ever: DIY one, grab one from Costco, or dream up something custom with a local craftsman.

Sippin’ in the Solarium: Indoor-Outdoor Bliss

Next up: my plants and I. Picture a quiet afternoon, sun streaming in, and the soft hum of greenery around you. That’s the solarium life.

You can grab one off Wayfair or go custom. Either way, let your plants know their move-in date. Add a comfy chair, a wine fridge, and voilà—sunny sipping heaven for that bottle of Lambrusco.

Bonus: You don’t need a big space to pull this off. It’s one of the easiest ways to create a year-round indoor-outdoor retreat with wine, plants, and peace.

Vino on the Veranda: Romantic Nights Under the Stars

Dear Romeo. My house is from 1972—boxy, yes, but she still deserves a beautiful veranda. I’m imagining wrought-iron railings, my bougainvillea climbing the doorway, and the moon hanging low as I sip bubbles with my roommate—I mean, husband—under the stars.

This one needs a permit and a builder, but that’s easy with Papa Draftsman. We discuss your vision and hand you the blueprints. You head to the permitting office, hire the builder, and boom—veranda dreams, activated.
